Hi friends,
On June 12th, 2024, “most of the time, i know” was released. This is a bittersweet song about hitting the turning point in a toxic, codependent relationship where you can finally see, more often than not, that being with this person is harming you more than it helps you, disempowering you more than it empowers you, shrinking you more than it helps you grow.
The lo-fi, intimate, and bittersweet feel of the song really came through thanks to recording help from my friend Chris Darby, wonderful string arrangement from Van Isaacson, mixing by Ryan Schmidt at Funk Off Studios, and mastering by Justin Perkins at Mystery Room Mastering.
My message to you today is the same as always: Please take each relational lesson that comes as a way to love yourself and others better. I hope we'll all own up to our mistakes and voice our needs and values honestly and that we'll commit to choosing what aligns with the type of person and partners we want to be and the type of relationships we want to have. There's no undoing the past, but there is moving forward better. Building good relationships is the core of a truly fulfilling life.
Much love,
Jorge
